"Stamp Out Hunger" Campaign - Saturday May 8th, 2010.
I'm writing to all my friends who may be willing to assist in "the largest" Annual food drive along Florida's Gulf Coast.
Each year thousands of pounds of food have been donated Throughout Sarasota County.
In previous years... a majority of the food was dispersed to areas other than our own.
This year, we're attempting to keep the food within our jurisdiction and distribute the quantities of food to those in need within our area.
Right now we need volunteers for the following:
- Drivers w/Trucks/Vans/SUVs to assist postal carriers in picking up the food
(usually with 2 other helpers).
- Unloaders of carrier trucks
- Food & Box Sorters
- Loaders, to box up food into storage areas
Items that are Still Needed for May 8th, for the volunteers:
- Banquet or Card Tables - Lunches for Volunteers
- Chairs - Coolers (for sodas & water)
- Dollies - Tent/Canopy for Shade
- Ice - Additional Maps for North Port / Venice Areas
